Most of the islanders on Inhassunge do not speak Portuguese but their own dialect “Carungo”. We make the same experience over and over again, that God’s spoken or written Word has an especially profound impact when it is received in the heart language of the person. Therefore we started our first Oral Bible Translation (OBT) Project! With the help of a project facilitator, translation consultants and mentors the oral translation can be accomplished by the local mother tongue speakers themselves.
